Bowl Bound: Gildan New Mexico Bowl

I know in my last post I was going to randomly select a bowl game and sim it every other day.  I'm still sticking with that plan to some extent, my newest change is I am doing them in order from first to last according to date.  This is the very first bowl game that will be played to kick this bowl season off.

It pits an 8-4 Temple Owls team from the Mid-American conference against the Cowboys of Wyoming, from the Mountain West conference, with a similar record.  It was actually a rather high scoring game, with both teams combining for a total of 93 points.  Unfortunately...it was also a rather one sided game in favor of Temple.  As you'll be able to see from the picture of the box score I grabbed:

Probably the most exciting part of the game was in the first quarter when Temple scored first in the game and then Wyoming returned the kickoff for a TD.  Followed by Temple returning the favor on Wyoming's kickoff.  Afterwards it was pretty much just Temple running up the score...  If by the fourth quarter Temple didn't have 47 points already, I easily think that Wyoming could have come back and at least put a threat towards Temple for the win.  There was also only one turnover in the game and that was an interception by Temple returned for a TD.

That does it for this prediction.  Come December 17th we will find out if Temple does win and my prediction count goes to 1-0 or 0-1....hopefully the former because that would be really cool.  Anyways, next prediction will come in the form of the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl where Ohio takes on Utah State.
